In the beginning, says the Gospel of John, was the word. While we live in a culture marinating in images, the word and the writing process still connects us, in an intimate and powerful way, to each other and to the larger universe. With writing, we communicate our deepest feelings, our unique ideas, our fondest hopes, and our transforming vision for the world. As a songwriter, a multimedia producer and curriculum designer, an essayist, and a historian, I see writing as our most powerful means of expression.
